Staff
Dr. Gene Robinson, CEO
Gene is a world renowned honey bee researcher with decades of experience, hundreds of scientific publication and tens of millions of dollars in grant awards, including some of the most prestigious scientific grants and awards such as the NIH Pioneer Award and the Wolf Prize in Agriculture. He obtained his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1986 and joined the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989. He holds a University Swanlund Chair and a Center for Advanced Study Professorship, is director of the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB), and co-director of the Illinois Bee Research Facility.
Nathan Beach, Technician
Nathan is experienced in business and administration, and has been a beekeeper for almost two decades. He is a local business owner and was the manager of the Bee Research Facility for the University of Illinois before joining ForgeBee.
, Intern
Dr. Adam Hamilton, CTO
Adam has been involved in honey bee research for over a decade and has extensive experience in both developing new technical applications to manipulate bee behavior and managing researchers, including international collaborations. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Illinois in 20xx.
Mark Nrekaj, Intern
Mark is a student at the University of Illinois in the school of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. He’s fascinated with the social biology of honey bees and uses his programming skills to further develop ForgeBee’s automated QMC system.
